Good evening guys.. today I try to install hplip for my hp desket 3745 printer.. after some surf in google I find that I should install printconf too.. so I install printconf first and then I try to install hplip(via apt).

Then I get this message:

Setting up hplip (1.6.10-4.1) …
Creating/updating hplip user account…
Starting HP Linux Printing and Imaging System: hpiod failed!
invoke-rc.d: initscript hplip, action “start” failed.
dpkg: error processing hplip (–configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
hplip
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Do you have any ideas ?

About this Blog

December 3rd, 2005

I haven’t tried Debian yet, but I read great reviews about Debian Linux everywhere recently. I’m going to use Debian on my next server, and this blog will be my notes of the server management. Hopefully I can keep up this blog.

Currently, I’m using FreeBSD (my blog), it is also a great choice for web servers.

If you are using Debian and want to share any tips, guides and experience, feel free to register and post here.
